Update on fruit & veggie progress

Remember the cherry tomato post a few weeks ago? Well, they are ripe and ready to eat! Look how gorgeous they are! Pop one in your mouth right off the vine…sweet, juicy, plump, delicious and organic. It doesn’t get better than this. Btw, sun golds are ripe when they turn a tangerine color.

shiso

Shiso/perilla (a.k.a Japanese basil or beefsteak plant) is an herb described as a combination of cinnamon, mint, and clove with cumin overtones. Like a lot of herbs, shiso is deer resistant. Comes in colors of ruby and green plants. Will be harvesting soon!

    • And you will love the tomatoes. With the okra, I make pickled okra only – see Pickle This! menu tab -> okra. I love gumbo which has okra in rue, but never made this soup myself.
